I started with an engineering salary and a plan for more freedom. As an engineer, every decision has to be backed by data, checked properly and signed off only once the risks are understood.

I saved my first deposit from my salary. Finance was new to me and the advice conflicted, so I bought the engineer's way: numbers first, risks checked, nothing on emotion. Rental income helped me hold, and equity from growth funded the next purchase. 5 properties in 3 years, and a multi-million-dollar portfolio by 29.
