My property journey

I started with an engineering salary and a plan for more freedom

For a long time, success meant becoming a good engineer and moving up at work. I had a career I was proud of. During trips overseas, I saw business owners and investors with more control over their time. I wanted that freedom for myself, so I began looking for a way to turn my salary into assets.I understood the appeal of property. A tenant could pay rent while I owned a home with room to grow in value. I saved the deposit from my salary and bought my first investment property. I knew little about finance and heard conflicting advice, so I worried about buying the wrong place. I made the decision with less certainty than I wanted.I learned to manage the finance and give each property time to do its job. Rental income helped me hold some of them. I used the equity from growth in other properties for the next purchase. I stopped expecting each property to perform in the same way and began judging the portfolio as a whole.After buying the first property, I had enough confidence to buy again. I looked for homes with rent that could help cover the costs and room for long term growth. I had built a multi million dollar portfolio by 29. I could make more choices about my work and my future.I started Acquira because I remember the fear and confusion that came with my first purchase. I help everyday Australians make those decisions with a clear plan and someone in their corner.
